HARRISBURG – Rep. John Hershey (R-Franklin/Juniata/Mifflin), in partnership with the American Legion, will be hosting veterans outreach hours in his Mifflintown and Lewistown district offices on specific Wednesdays of each month from 9 a.m. to noon

This first session will be held on April 17 at 28 Industrial Circle, Mifflintown. Veterans outreach hours will be held on April 24 at 3 W. Monument Square, Suite 301, Lewistown.

An American Legion field service officer will assist veterans with issues regarding disability compensation, pensions, burial and death benefits, addition of dependents, dependency and indemnity compensation, and other relevant issues.

“These men and women have shown extreme bravery and patriotism by putting their lives on the line to defend our freedom,” said Hershey. “I want to offer any assistance I can that will help with the hardships they experience after their service.”

Veterans do not have to be a member of the American Legion to receive these services. Appointments are encouraged, but not required.

To schedule an appointment with the field service officer, please call the Mifflintown district office at 717-436-6001 or the Lewistown district office at 717-242-0423.
