HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) has awarded a low-interest loan to Allensville Municipal Authority for upgrades to the existing slow-sand water filtration plant, according to Rep. John Hershey (R-Mifflin/Juniata/Franklin).
The PENNVEST board today signed off on a $371,950 loan for 20 years at interest rates ranging from 1% to 1.743%.
“Allensville Municipal Authority will use this funding to complete several projects, including installing an automated shutoff valve and an emergency generator. This is an important project to ensure the customers of Allensville Municipal Authority continue to have clean drinking water for years to come,” Hershey said.
Formed in 1988, PENNVEST provides low-interest loans for design, engineering and construction of publicly and privately owned drinking water distribution and treatment facilities, as well as storm water and wastewater projects.
